Our Belief

Urban Tech Santa Ana was founded with the notion that all children, no matter where they come from, deserve the right to dream, design, innovate and invent to reach their dreams. Realizing the untapped potential of the large amount of youth in Santa Ana who do not have equitable access to high quality Science Technology Engineering Art Math (STEAM) education and resources to actualize their dreams, and most importantly, share and build those dreams with others, Urban Tech strives to become the “go-to” Community STEAM Center for all STEAM related education, activities, and events.

With “approximately 91% of the Santa Ana Unified School District student population eligible for free and reduced-price meals”, there is an apparent economic disparity that exists within Santa Ana specifically. The aim of Urban Tech Santa Ana is to provide the resources necessary to ensure that the youth of Santa Ana can become game changers in whatever field they choose to pursue in their careers and lives without a regard to their individual or family’s economic status

With SAUSD under-performing in nearly every STEM based AP course offered in high school (2016, OC Community Community Indicators, page 33), there is an apparent lack of resources to ensure that students of Santa Ana Unified School District are able to partake completely and successfully in STEAM classes beginning at the elementary school level. Via community donations, grants, and sponsorships, Urban Tech Santa Ana is able to provide high quality classes, workshops, and initiatives to youth K-12.

Our Mission

To provide high quality STEAM education in the city of Santa Ana with the full intention of erasing the “digital divide” between more affluent members of society and underserved communities; to build strong, healthy community relationships between young and old.
